Coffee is a
relatively new crop in Nepal, offering great
promise for the future in this tiny, yet
most enchanting mountain kingdom. Beneath
her icy Himalayan peaks lay lush, fertile
valleys, perfect for growing some of the
world’s finest shade-grown Arabica coffees. |
|
|
|
Our Nepalese
coffee is organically grown at an altitude
of 2,200 – 2,400 feet in the foothills of
the Ganish Himal mountain range. The beans
are ripened in the thin Himalayan air under
sunlit azure skys and a canopy of shade
trees. Once harvested, the beans are washed
with water from the snow-fed Trisuli river
and sun-dried. |

For our
Annapurna Blend we skillfully blend our
Nepalese beans with 100% organic, fair trade
coffees, resulting in a medium bodied,
smooth cup. This is truly a rare and

Our Peruvian
coffee is perfect for when you want to
simply savor and enjoy a beautifully
balanced cup of coffee that doesn’t
challenge you or vie for your attention. Its
pleasant personality may be inherited from
its patient and attentive growers who, after
decades of perfecting their trade, have
become some of the World’s most proficient
producers of superb organic coffees. It is
grown in the Peruvian highlands between the
Amazon jungle and the Andes Mountains,
primarily on small farms often no more than
an acre. |

This medium
bodied Peruvian coffee reveals a smooth
richness, a fine sharp aroma and wonderful
lively acidity yet moderate acidity that is
never assertive. |

SUMATRA - ORGANIC FAIR
TRADE COFFEE |

|
Sumatra is a
large tropical island in Western Indonesia,
once known at the “Island of Gold”, likely
because of gold deposits once found in the
island’s highlands. Most people would be
surprised to learn that, though it is rarely
visited, it is the sixth largest and fifth
most populous island in the world. Coffee
was introduced to the island by the Dutch
from Ethiopia in the 17th century. |

|
Our Sumatran
coffee is grown in the far northwestern
province of Aceh in rich volcanic soil which
is organic and very fertile. The people of
this region are ethnic Mandhelings. They
process these wonderful coffees in the
mountainous area within the Aceh region in
the Gayo Mountain Mill near the city of
Takengon where typical growing altitudes
average between 1,100 and 1,300 meters
although they can reach as high at 1,900
meters. |

Sumatran
coffees are very popular for their full body
– perhaps the world’s fullest bodied coffees
– and low acidity. Our Gayo Mountain coffee
is slightly lighter in body (though still
full-bodied), well-rounded and wonderfully
sweet, rustic and earthy. |

|

to the country from Jamaica about 230 years
ago, Mexican coffee farmers, blessed with
perfect growing condition including rich

temperate climate, have overcome innumerable
obstacles to produce some of the world’s
finest coffees today. |

Decaf coffee is shade grown, organic,
certified fair trade and utilizes water
process decaffeination. It is light to
medium bodied, uncomplicated and a very
pleasant coffee for all day, anytime
enjoyment. In fact, we believe it is one of
